With more than 34 years in the financial service industry, Les is returning to his roots as a financial planner and building a family based financial planning firm with his two son’s Ryan and Sean. Les started his career with London Life as a financial adviser helping Canadians achieve their financial goals, and then moved into various sales management and operational roles. From there, he moved to Empire Life, working in senior level sales, marketing and operational roles nationally until he was appointed President and CEO, a role he held for just over six years.
Customer-focused, innovative, hard-working and caring are some of the words Les’ colleagues have used to describe him, as well as being a recognized leader in the Canadian financial services industry.

- Earned his Executive MBA from Queen’s University in 2001; also holds the following designations: Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (Ch. F.C.)
- Helped raise millions of dollars leading fundraising campaigns for United Way, Pathways to Education Kingston and the 1000 Islands Playhouse
- Chaired the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (2012 – 2013) and served as Member of the Board for five years
- Paul Harris Fellow Award – Kingston Rotary Club – May 2012
- Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal – December 2012
Ryan joined the practice in May 2016 following his graduation from Humber College with his Ontario Graduate Certificate, Financial Planning and Services. He is a Queen’s University graduate with his BA (Honors) in Political Science. Having grown up in the industry seeing his father help people achieve their financial goals through sound planning and advice, Ryan is excited to be working to build a firm focused on sound financial planning and helping customers achieve their financial goals. Ryan is working toward his CFP and has completed the Canadian Securities course.
He loves the outdoors, boating, playing golf, skiing and if you want to know anything about cars, Ryan is your man.
Steve grew up in Guelph and studied at Wilfrid Laurier University, earning an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Economics. At university Steve developed a deep interest in the investment and financial markets, becoming fascinated with investor psychology and how easily emotion can affect financial decisions.
Upon graduating, Steve carried this knowledge forward into the banking industry, working for a major Canadian bank for eight years at progressive levels of responsibility. Dealing with a diverse clientele, Steve learned that each person’s situation is different and that their individual challenges were unique. He believes that the only way for a financial advisor to help a client achieve their goals is to take the time to get to know them and to create a financial blueprint. He is currently enrolled in the CFP program and is studying to be licensed to provide mutual fund solutions. Outside of work, Steve keeps himself busy with team sports, playing hockey year-round as well as golf and numerous other sports. On quieter days, he buries himself in books and news/world events.
Joe spent his early life growing up in a military family whose posts included an extended period in Germany. He studied biology and genetics as an undergraduate in Montreal and received a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Alberta. He served for 35 years in a variety of management roles and held the position of CEO in 6 major teaching Centers in Canada, Asia and in Africa.
He served as Chair of Canada’s Teaching Hospital Association, dealing with health policy initiatives and research policy. Following this, Joe was Principal of his own executive advisory practice and had as clients, executives in some of Canada’s best known private sector companies in the Pharmaceutical, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Device and infrastructure Development Industries.
In addition to his unique background in health management and policy, his extensive international travel and working experience has enabled him to develop a deep understanding of the issues involved in the delivery of Health Care and Health Care related benefits in many countries and jurisdictions.
His skills in leadership and his ability to development strong and productive interpersonal relationships and his background in health management provide him with an ideal framework to develop a travel and health related benefit plan for Herr Wealth Management clients.
Lisa has 30 years of financial service industry experience working both at the corporate level as well as working with big and small financial planning firms. She has several years of office management experience with strong client services knowledge, problem solving and complaint resolution skills.
Lisa oversees the daily operations with Herr Wealth Management. She
holds her life insurance license and is continuing to grow by studying for her CLU (chartered life underwriter) designation and ultimately her CFP (certified financial planner) designation.
Lisa also support our Employee Benefits and Group RRSP customer ensuring smooth renewals, pricing reviews and dealing with any questions or concerns.
With 17 years of providing customer service, Reagan is a seasoned expert in answering customer questions, reviewing their various holdings and dealing with any concerns. He obtained his ACS designation (Associate, Customer Service). His last 10 years he worked for a major insurance base financial institution in the role of senior customer service specialist and served as the head office liaison and dedicated representative for many top advisors. He is an important part of the Herr Wealth Management team and can be counted on by our customers to answer their question and deliver exceptional customer service. In the short time since joining Herr Wealth Management, Reagan has passed the provincial life license exam and is licensed by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. In his spare time, he is a professional musician and artist.
Jennifer has always loved working in Customer Service. She entered the financial industry where she began her career with a large insurance based financial institution in 2010. She obtained her ACS designation (Associate Customer Service) and ALMI designation (Associate Life Manager) through LOMA (Life Office Management Association) and excelled in her role. She obtained the Ontario Management Development Leadership Skills certificate from St Lawrence college. Courses Included communications, management for results, facilitating workplace training, managing workgroup productivity, human resources selection, and human relations.
Jennifer is very personable and has a warm, friendly nature. She is knowledgeable and attentive, but perhaps, Jennifer's greatest asset is the relationship she has formed with our customer and her ability to answer questions and review our customer’s holdings. In the short time since joining our team, Jennifer has enrolled in the provincial life license program. Outside of work, Jen spends a lot of time with her husband and two girls and travels to New York state to visit family.
Sean is currently a Queen’s University student and has a goal to become a financial advisor following graduation. He will be working at the firm during his summer breaks and part-time throughout the year to help him learn new skills, gain valuable experience and begin his career.
